Leading innovations into profitable business

Inger Ahldén from BSR Food and Kerstin Hindrum from MarChain working with the Business Model Canvas.

Last week all the five StarDust projects and the BSR Food project got together in Kiel, Germany, to meet external evaluators and get coached in business development.

All project members were introduced to Business Model Generation (BMG) by Victoria Utheim from Innovation Norway. They have successfully used the model to increase the competitiveness among Norwegian clusters and triple helix partners. The overall reflection from the participants in the workshop was very positive.

“By using BMG we will have better possibilities to lead innovations into profitable business”, says Erik Bunis, process leader for the StarDust projects.

In addition to the evaluation by the general evaluation team, the Active for Life project was evaluated by Sabine Koch, professor at Karolinska Institutet, sitting to the far left side of the picture.

The Strategic Action Plans (SAP) of all the projects were presented for the evaluation team consisting of Christian Ketels, Harvard Business School, Tarmo Lemola, Ramboll Management and Sven Gunnar Edlund, VINNOVA. This time the evaluation team also was extended with experts from the actual field of the pilot.

All projects are on the right track and were coached to increase the efforts to extend their network and focus on reaching global competitiveness. The SAP’s will be further developed and be the guideline for new projects and cooperation, aiming for 2020.
