Active for Life
Active for Life created business opportunities for companies around the Baltic Sea by supporting the development of innovative service solutions, based on real user needs within the wellbeing and health promotion sector.
Active for Life long term aim was to make the Baltic Sea region into a global wellbeing business hub, acting as a springboard to BSR companies for accessing global markets. Through the use of user-driven innovation procedure, Active for Life supported companies to cooperate in the development of innovative products and service solutions that promoted the wellbeing and healthy lifestyles of people entering retirement.
Active for Life has been able to identify several thematic areas which present business opportunities for companies, and with the potential to positively impact the quality of life of our ageing population. So far Active for Life has engaged over 150 companies across the BSR, covering a variety of sectors, such as travelling and tourism, eHealth and gaming, rehabilitation and healthcare.
Since 2011, more than twelve workshops and business events have been organised involving end-users and researchers as well as the public and private sectors. Active for Life continues to give directed support to the engaged companies. The activities aim is to identify the best user-driven and business development tools capable of supporting BSR companies in establishing business partnerships and developing new innovative and commercial service solutions across the Baltic Sea region.

In 2014, Active for Life will seek to expand its network by involving all BSR countries and help companies to cooperate together in reaching global emergent markets.
